What is Ayurveda

Ayurveda, meaning “the science of life” in Sanskrit, is an ancient holistic healing system that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Rooted in the belief that true wellness comes from balance, Ayurveda emphasizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.

At its core, Ayurveda is about understanding your unique constitution—known as your dosha—and living in harmony with nature. The three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, represent different elemental forces within us:

  • Vata (Air & Ether) – Creative, energetic, and quick-thinking when balanced; prone to anxiety and dryness when imbalanced.

  • Pitta (Fire & Water) – Passionate, strong-willed, and driven; can experience irritation, inflammation, or overheating when out of balance.

  • Kapha (Earth & Water) – Grounded, nurturing, and steady; but may feel sluggish or resistant to change when imbalanced.

Ayurveda works through diet, herbal remedies, movement, meditation, and self-care rituals like abhyanga (self-massage with herbal oils) to restore balance and vitality. These ancient practices help support digestion, detoxification, skin health, and emotional well-being.

By incorporating Ayurvedic wisdom into your daily routine, you can cultivate radiance, resilience, and inner peace—naturally.
